Egyptian: XXIX Dynasty, 399-380BC small seal stamp in light green faience bearing the royal throne name of Maatibra (Pharisee Hakor) in cartouche. He held the first royal tituliary since the XXVI Dynasty (664-525BC). Hakor pursued an active building programme & sealed foreign alliances to keep out the Persians (the previous dynasty had rebelled against Persian rule). Hakor was initially a prince of Mendes. A scarce example of the royal name. Problem free, 40-50% of faience remaining, overall GC. (P) |
