Northern Territory: K. Richard, Gillard & Company, Emungalan, North Australia c1920 One Pound No. 119 company note or "Shinplaster". Emungalan was a town once situated 5km north of Katherine, Northern Territory. It served as the terminus of the "Northern Territory Railway" until 1928. With the completion of a new bridge, a shift took place to the new town site of Katherine. By 1927 the town was deserted with all of the railway facilities dismantled & re-erected 100km away at Mataranka. Practically UNC & Rare. (P)
