1912 remarkable inwards use of Germany official postcard (real photo Hesse Royal Family) posted to Samoa during experimental Air Mail flights on Rhein & Main, dated 15.6.1912 & endorsed 'per Zeppelin', franked special 10pf & 5pf Germania tied by 'Flugpost am Rhein u. am Main Darmstadt 16.6.12' pmk. Believed to be unique to Samoa, & the earliest jusqu'a airmail item to South Pacific. The experimental flights were by airship “Schwaben” & airplane “Gelber Hund”. The Zeppelin endorsement suggests this item was intended to be carried by the airship. Unique (P)
