WWI A FINE MENTIONED IN DESPATCHES 1914 STAR GROUP OF 5 WITH CONTEMPORARY MINIATURES AND RIBBON BAR. Consists of the 1914 Star with "MONS" clasp, impressed "M1-06775 PTE F. RHODES. A.S.C.". 1914-1918 BWM and Victory Medal with M.I.D. device, both impressed "M1-6775 SJT. F. RHODES. A.S.C". 1910-1935 Coronation Medal and the 1937 Coronation Medal, both unnamed as issued. Medals modern court mounted. Contemporary miniatures with "MONS" clasp and "M.I.D." mounted as worn (swing mount). Ribbon bar with silver rosette for the 1914 Star but missing M.I.D. device for the Victory Medal, RFU. Coronation Medals cartons of issue included, these now with some damage. Also included is a "Soldier's Release Book", the title overstamped, "Clothing Coupons and Ration Book", named inside to a "S/SGT. J. Rhodes", presumably to the son of the above. "Release Leave Certificate" to the rear of the book giving details of S/Sgt. James Rhodes "69 Depot Control Coy R.A.O.C" dated "1946". Unused "Motor Fuel Ration Book" plus other loose coupons and a small B/W photo of 4 soldiers, one probably being J. Rhodes, marked on the reverse "Antwerp, Belgium, June 1945". his 4 medals are included, being the "1939-45 Star, The France and Germany Star, 1939-1945 BWM and The Defence Medal", all loose and unnamed as issued.
