Lining stamped "Int 42" (possibly maker's initials and date 1942), "56 A" (possibly size?) and "KAURANEN Y", possibly the owner of the tunic's name. Some moth nips to the front of the tunic, but not enough to impact on display. Winter fur cap with turn down side for extreme weather. Main body of the cap is heavy field grey wool. To the centre of the front of the cap is an EM's blue and white painted w/m cockade. Small grey material ties to the top that secure the sides when not in use. Small area of mothing to the top of the cap. Inner lined with a soft grey wool like material. Shows heavy sweat staining to the inner rim. Dark brown leather adjustable Finnish pattern "Y" straps with a black leather double claw belt. C/w a pair of German G98 ammo pouches, both dated 1915, but not quite a matching pair. Leather belt loop to the rear of one of the pouches has been replaced with a strip of green leather. Finnish issue bread bag made of a grey canvas material. Has the matching shoulder strap. Aluminium water canteen with field grey felt material cover. Lid marked "Int 42". 9 pocket ammunition bandolier with black painted w/m buttons. Each marked "SIRO SUOMI". Most likely unissued. Shows only minor soiling, little wear. Brown leather entrenching tool cover marked "SA" (for Finland, not the German Sturmabteilung) and dated "1936". Generic European entrenching tool with a black painted steel shovel head and wood handle. Shovel head shows significant paint loss through wear. Marked with a bat symbol and the letters "BAT". Also marked with a small triangle with a "1" to the centre and "?369/0106 K3". Snow cammo trousers with a drawstring waist and drawstring closure to both trouser cuffs. Zip to either side for accessing the uniform beneath. Matching hooded jacket with 5 button closure. 5 buttons are all matching and appear to be made of some sort of cardboard/fibre covered in white material. Slash cut opening to each side of the jacket for the wearer to access the tunic or jacket beneath. A rare grouping of Axis combat uniform and equipment items that make an instant display! Overall Grade II-.
