Australia: WW2 PERIOD POSTCARD OF THE GERMAN SURRENDER LEAFLETS DROPPED ON THE AUST. 9th DIVISION AT TOBRUK IN 1941. Roughly postcard size approx. 140mm by 90mm. Obverse features a B & W image of the original leaflet stating that the Australians situation was hopeless and that they should surrender. This period made example was most likely produced as a souvenir or for posting back home to family members. No writing to the reverse. Very few of the actual surrender leaflets survived as they came in handy for use as writing paper, cigarette papers or even in some cases used as toilet paper. Interesting item from WW2 Australian history. Grade II-
