Germany: WW2 VERY RARE GESTAPO ADDRESSED ENVELOPE FOR AACHEN. Envelope only, no contents. Made of thick brown paper with 4 "Dienstmarke Deutsches Reich" postage stamps postmarked "29.5.37" to the obverse. Measures approx. 175x125mm. Red ink stamp "Einschreiben" (Registered) to the obverse. Large ink stamp in black to the obverse "die Staatspolizeistelle" (The state police office). Under this is a name and details but it is hand written in old German and very difficult to translate. Nice clear ink Gestapo stamp with the NSDAP eagle and swastika to the centre and "Geheime Staatspolizei, Staatspolizeistelle Aachen" printed around the outer. Small stick-on postal label marked "R" and "Aachen 1 422 z". Small tear to the top of the obverse near the stamps, but does not detract from presentation or display. Back of the envelope has been torn open to view contents. A scarce and impressive Gestapo item. Grade II-.
