Reverse engraved officially: 'CADET W.G. BANFIELD, C.COY.69TH BATT'N, BRIGADE SERIES, 1913-14', 48mm. William Gay Banfield, born 1897 Moonee Ponds, Victoria. Enl. AIF, 36th. HAG S/No. 848, 1/111916 having served with Aust Garrison & Royal Australian Garrison (permanent) Artillery 1½ years, stating 'Soldier' as occupation, to France 24/5/1917, RtA & disch med unfit 5/4/1918.
