To 2nd Bn Military Train 1856, served with the Force under the Commander in Chief at Lucknow in November 1857 & with that under Maj. Gen. Sir. J. Outram at Alumbagh. Died 12 April 1859 on service. A veteran of the Siege of Sebastopol & the Battle of Inkerman, May's lost most of his lower Jaw when he was struck in the chin by a 32 LB Round whilst in the trenches.
