WW2 LATE WAR GENERAL ASSAULT BADGE ATTRIBUTED TO MAKER RUDOLF KARNETH. Late war zinc base metal with a shiny chrome like finish. Obverse retains much of the silvered finish with small areas where the zinc base metal is showing through. Retains nice clear sharp detail to the outer wreath, army eagle, swastika and the crossed bayonet and stick grenade. Reverse features a semi-hollow back design. Good strong functional retaining pin and "C" catch. No maker mark but very much a similar badge as featured on page 122-123 of "German Awards of WW2, Vol.1: THE GENERAL ASSAULT BADGE" by Heukemes, 2005. Clearly attributed to maker Rudolf Karneth. A fine example. Grade II-. (P)
