No medal entitlements for these postings. To France with BEF 12 Aug 1914, MID per London Gazette 20/10/1914 as major, 1st Battalion, Loyal North Lancashire regiment. To retired list as brevet Lieutenant Colonel, 1920. Together with an excellent portrait shot of Burrows in uniform wearing visor cap, also with copies of MICs & service documents.
