WW2 GERMAN HORSEMAN'S BADGE (DEUTSCHES REITERABZEICHEN) 2ND CLASS IN SILVER. Scarce earlier example in Tombac base metal with silvered frosting. Retains approx 50% of the original finish. Badge features a mounted horseman surrounded by an oak leaf wreath with an "R" in a circle to the base of the wreath. Retaining pin to the reverse. Maker marked to the reverse for the noted maker "Steinhauer & LUCK LEDENSCHEID". Also marked "GESETZL.GESCH.REICHSVERBD. F.Z.U.PR.D.WARMBL." Reverse retains much of the silvered finish. Only 6,183 of this class were awarded between 1931 and 1942. A handsome example of a scarce badge. Grade II-
