1939-45 M41 HELMET. A very distinctive helmet shape with wide contours giving the helmet broad coverage from falling projectiles or shrapnel. Outer shell painted black. Little paint loss or wear evident, so most likely a repainted shell. Some minor dings to the shell mostly to the apex of the dome. Slot to the rear of the shell to allow the helmet to be attached to webbing or a pack, when not in use. Inner shell painted black. A very good reproduction/replacement M41 leather liner and chinstrap has been fitted. Leather is a light tan colour and has an ink size '58' stamp. Correct M41 style leather washer/ spacers keep the liner firmly held in place. An original M41 helmet shell that has been restored or refurbished for post war use. Not often seen for sale. Grade II-
