1895 PATTERN LIGHT CAVALRY SABRE. Iron full-cup hilt with the two piece grip formed of a chequered pattern walnut timber in an anatomical shape which are fastened by a central screw to the steel tang. Plain rounded iron pommel. Plain, slightly curved blade without fullers. Toledo factory stamp to the ricasso. Light pitting to the blade. Iron scabbard with one suspension ring. There is a crease to either side of the scabbard just above the drag but this does not affect the in/out movement of the sword's blade. A good original example, as used during the Spanish- American War of 1898. Licence required in Victoria. Grade II-
