USA: WW2 HITLER YOUTH (HJ) KNIFE CONVERTED TO A US FIGHTING KNIFE. Consists of a HJ knife blade maker marked 'Eickhorn Solingen' with a 'RZM' logo and '17/66'. Clear '39' to ricasso indicating year of manufacture as 1939. Blade has been sharpened and shows considerable usage. Grips have been removed and bound with a thick green rubber like tape. Original leather washer that cushions the blade in to the scabbard, remains intact. Scabbard is a modified US M-1905 E1. The throat of the scabbard has a metal fastening clip added for securing the knife to clothing or equipment. The very tip of the scabbard has been broken or snapped off. A very interesting theatre made combat knife. Grade II- (lot number out of order)

Great Britain:1953 PATTERN TYPE "D" COMBAT SURVIVAL KNIFE AND LEATHER SHEATH. Heavy sharpened steel blade with parkerised finish. Blade retains most of the factory finish with only superficial wear. Blade is marked "27C/2360" to one side & "RODGERS SHEFFIELD ENGLAND" to the other. Hardwood grips with two substantial bolt assemblies securing the grips to the grips to the knife. Leather lanyard to end of grip. Brown leather sheath. This pattern knife designed in 1953 by "Wilkinson". Refer to page 105 of "BRITISH AND COMMONWEALTH MILITARY KNIVES" by Flook (1999).
