Rev Coat of arms of university within border of clover engraved 'William Gorge Aston BA 1862 First Class in Ancient Classics' 22ct Gold 31.28g 39mm by J Woodhouse. Reflective fields in contrast to frosted high points of the design. Two other examples found, 1 in the British Museum, the other dated 1860 was sold by Heritage 3-2-23 for US$8000=A$12000+comm (graded NGC MS64 - hairlines visible). This medal also has light hairlines & would probably grade MS63. Heritage final comment 'This is a unique & beautiful piece for the collector interested in Ultra Rarities' Queen University is located in the city of Belfast. (P) | SOLD at A$8000 | ||

This is the best republic, hd of Marianne/JUS DIVINIUM SALUS POPULI copper 82g, 56.5mm. Very interesting medal with screw thread closer (8.5mm thick). Contains medals of the elder branch of the Bourbons at 10.5mm surrounding a medal of Henry V. Only a few of the honorary box medal are known. VF. A complete set is currently offered on the internet for €1500 while another medal missing one small medals for sale for £495. Rated RR (very rare). (P) | AVAILABLE at A$300 | ||
