1902 Boer War Transvaal, gold 'Veld Pond'. Emergency issue 'ZAR 1902' rev 'EEN POND'. Authorized by acting President Schalk Burger, with dies made by PJ Kloppers, struck at Pilgrim's Rest using equipment from a mining engineering/maintenance workshop (thus its 'Veld' or 'Field' Pond nickname). Fr 4. KM 11. Graded NGC 'AU details, removed from jewellery", which has resulted in surfaces that are a bit bright but still with full details. Quite sharply struck for issue.
