Queensland Government £1 Brisbane 2-7-1906, s/n D/1 512266, imprint Perkins Bacon & Co Ltd London. Pick S1044. MVR Type 2. Very rare as issued note. Graded PMG '20 Very Fine', while obviously well circulated it is an attractive note with excellent colors. Unlike most pre-federation banknotes which were issued privately, this was an official issue of the Queensland Government. And as such a Treasury Note, it is of much greater historical importance & numismatic interest. (P) |
