WW2 FINNISH MARKMANSHIP BADGE. Large white metal badge measuring approx 44mm at the widest point. Fir tree background, crossed rifles, large Finnish style swastika (Hakaristi) with a large square central rifle target superimposed over the top of badge. Screw-back device to the reverse for attaching to uniform attire, with a brass metal plate for securing. Has an individual issue number "5689" impressed to the reverse. Maker mark and place of manufacture "OY TAITO AB" in tiny lettering to the reverse also. The Finnish armed forces from 1918 to 1945 used their swastika symbol separately to the Germans (Hakenkruez), even though the 2 countries were allies during WW2. A fascinating item from history.
