WW2 RARE DEPUTY AIR DEFENSE LEADER OF THE ARMY ARMBAND (Stellvertreter des LS-Leiters des Heeres). Worn by the local Army District leader to designate that he was the responsible officer for defence against enemy air attacks. This was introduced by an order (H.Dv.410) on 15 August 1942. Consists of a white cotton armband approx. 100mm wide, ends sewn together for wear. Separately attached machine woven black cotton Wehrmacht eagle and swastika on a white cotton backing. Running the length of both edges and vertically forming a box around the eagle, is 10mm wide blue tress like tape. Some age related yellowing to the white cotton and some soiling, the worst of which is to the reverse, not seen when displayed. One of the rarer Third Reich armbands we have available. Grade II-.
