Auschwitz-Birkenau Concentration Camp: 1943 Postcard franked Hitler 6pf tied by 'Berlin-Charlottenburg 6 8 43' machine pmk, to Bohemia, with 3-line cachet 'Ruckantwort nur uber die Reichsvereinigang der Juden in Deutschland Berlin-Charlottenburg 2, Kantstr 158' instructing that any reply would have to be in German & to the noted Berlin address. This card was part of the 'Briefaktion des RSHA (Juden)' which was 'Operation Mail' carried out by the Nazis in the summer of 1943 to deceive the world about the 'Final Solution'. Before being murdered Jewish prisoners were forced to write forward dated postcards or letters home falsely stating that they were in good health & doing well, & the purpose of this was also to try to lure out any Jews still in hiding. Extremely rare. 2015 Ceremuga photo cert. (P)
