1895 cover franked Palm Trees 1/- carmine perf 12½ diag BISECT tied to cover by 'Apia Samoa APR 24 95' blue cds. Being a FDC. A fire on 1st April 1895 destroyed all stamp stocks except 1/-, which was bisected to pay 2½d overseas letter rate until new supplies arrived in July 1895.
