Boer War: 1899-1902 Postal History Military Field PO covers franked mostly GB 1d lilac plus Transvaal, Natal & Cape Hope frankings with Field Post Office British Army S Africa with various diff PO numbers. Some censored, taxed with Postage Due affixed, Soldiers Mail usually FREE, some endorsed 'On Active Service, no stamps available'. Plus many pmks on stamps. Similarly the civil mail used the normal stamps & pmks on cover, plus loose from OFS, Transvaal, CGH etc. Very interesting lot. (85 covers, 75 stamps) |
