 1861 Livingston Postmaster Provisional 5c blue. F-VF U, Livingston cds, tiny almost invisible internal split, 3+ margins. Sc 51X1 cat US$15,000+ (net valuation for example in this condition, while sound condition on cover would cat US$75,000). SG 1 cat £18,000+. This is the most impressive large format design of all the Confederate Postmaster provisionals, & one of the most famous stamps of the American Civil War. Great rarity as only 3 loose stamps are known, none of which are perfect. Provenance: Foster, Caspary, Kirkman, Weill, Brandon & Middendorf.
