1680![]() Click for more photos | China: Late 1930s views of Japanese Occup North China coloured postcard set of 32 with original deluxe silver colour box of issue. The deluxe outer box depicts a Japanese fighter planes hovering over a group of classic Chinese ancient buildings indicating that this large swath of Chinese territory was under the control of the Japanese Army in early WWII. The box has 30 individual postcards & a composite of 2 depicting the 17-arch bridge of Summer Palace. The photos cover northern China provinces inc Peking (Beijing), Tientsin (Tianjing), Shandong & Shanxi. Notably, one depicts a Japanese Army soldier patrolling in the city of Kufow (Qufu), the birth place of Confucius & the most significant cultural holy place in China. Another depicts the Japanese Army seizing control of the Tsingtau (Qingdao) Town Hall, marking the fall of Tsingtau on 10 Jan 1938.
