1856 type-set provisional Ship 4c black on ROSE-CARMINE surface coloured paper, initialled 'E.D.W.' of E D Wright. Superb U with 'Demerara 10 OC 1856', the coloured surface has couple tiny touched up areas as almost always for stamps of this issue while the design & paper are fully original & perfect, cut square with amazingly large margins on 4 sides, fantastic deep colour. Scott 14a cat US$40,000. SG 25 cat £40,000. & both relatively undercatalogued as the rose-carmine shade is many times rarer than the magenta shade. The amazingly huge margins definitely make it one of the best looking genuine examples of this famous classic rarity. Exp Alberto Diena (in pencil), while diff new certificate can be obtained on request. (P)
