1938 (21 May) Oakland Air Mail Week cover USA to Australia bearing 6c (4) & 25c (2), carried on Pan Am 'Philippine' clipper to Hong Kong (2 Jun b/s), where Imperial Airways 'Dorado' caught fire just before departure & mail transferred to 'Daedulus' to Bangkok, there caught IE658 'Cordelia' (7 Jun) but developed engine trouble & mail transferred to 'Coogee', departing 2 days later, b/s Melbourne & Adelaide 13 Jun.
