Army. c1914-45 delightful AIF lettergram with gold embossed Rising Sun badge dated 14-10-17 to the mother of 6411 Pte William Ernest Chappel of 17 Bn AIF, enlisted 23-10-16 & RTA 11-01-18. Also a postcard to Bill's brother, ANZAC Day 1917 NO 1 Command Depot showing the day's programme & meal menu for the day. Menu creators have included various places of interest, battle honours/locations in their menu section. Postcard 2-11-17 with coloured Rising Sun hat badge to front 'With All Good Wishes'. Airmail lettercard from Bill's nephew Ron sent from the Middle East in Dec 1941 (Lt RG Chappel 33 Bn AIF). A very interesting lot worthy of further research. Plus a French patriotic scarf with coloured Military prints & Marseillaise lyrics. No damage/staining to scarf apparent. Cards etc some aging, average condition. (5 items) |
