Australia Comforts Fund carved & inlaid large wooden tray, 540x395mm. In the centre map of Australia (no Tasmania) surrounding this A.I.F. - R.A.N - R.A.A.F. inlaid. Carved around the border, battles - Abyssinia, Dunkirk, Tobruk, Greece, Crete, Malaya, Iraq, Syria & Iran, under this 'Honour the Brave'. 1 handle bar missing but spare handle for replacement included. To the rear is a poem & dedications by a Comfort Fund's committee member. Also a WWII Australian Women's Land Army pennant, approx 550mm long GC & a Women's Air Training Corps plaque. Rectangular wooden base with heavy brass plate to the front. This with wings & blue enamel badge of the Australian Women's Flying Club, New South Wales division of the Women's Air Training Corps with wings & blue enamel badge of the WATC 1938-46. Approx 20x15cm. A very nice plaque. Very good, typical of age. 3 reasonably scarce items. (3) |
