20943 Click to enlarge photo | 1935 George V Jubilee Medal, silver. Unnamed as issued, but with original award parchment named to 'Edwin Cheel, Esquire'. Edwin Cheel, born 14/1/1872, a gardener, he was appointed as a Staff Member of Centennial Park, Sydney in 1897. Later to the Royal Botanic Gardens, Sydney. Appointed Chief Botanist & Curator of the National Herbarium, Sydney 1933-36. Also received the Bronze Medal, Royal Society of NSW & was President of same in 1932.
