Impressed officially: 'VX 132462 A. A. Pettigrew'. Alan Atholstone Pettigrew, born Melbourne, 1922, a 'Christadelphian', he enl 27/11/41, HQ Southern Command (motor transport). To New Guinea 12/8/42. The diary is particularly fine & detailed also used as his training notebook, Pettigrew has kept detailed entries from 25/12/1942 to 1945. B/W small photo of Pettigrew standing on a downed tree at Torokina, 1945. The 2 berthing cards are for his trip home from Bougainville Sept 1945.
