Sword. c1800 Light Cavalry Trooper's sword. Similar to 1796 pattern but reduced size. Possibly a 'Levee' sword. Curved fullered blade 710mm. Light pitting, heavy age & stain. Steel stirrup hilt. Knuckle bow broken through near pommel. Wire bound fish skin grips with heavy wear. Retaining only 25% of skin. C/W all steel scabbard, this with pitting & few dings. Fair-GC. |
