Crimson wool-cloth body with light blue band & piping to crown & body. Crimson number '4' to centre front. Leather 'duck-bill' visor. Leather sweatband & crown. Disc with date '4/57' & issue # '8306'. Note the 4th were serving on the Mexican Border from c/1858-1865 & wore this pattern shako in the field. Minor fade & wear, crazing to visor finish. gVF.
