Army. 1939-45 AIF Enlisted Ranks attributable uniform lot. Comprising: EM's service dress tunic, pre-1942 pattern (4 patch pocket) with custom added belt hooks to rear. Dated 1942 by 'N489', size 10. Named to 'N247804, Spr Helmers' (a later ink inscription has an added 'NX'.) comp with all 2/AIF Oxy Bz insignia & buttons, 1946 pattern 2nd AIF Medical colour patches (chocolate brown rectangle on grey ground) & with ribbon bar for Pacific Star group of 4; a Patt 1937 web equipment waist belt, bleached near white, with all buckles intact & named 'ALH'; a pr of Patt 1937 web anklets with web straps, again bleached near white with name & number just legible: 'NX AL Helmers'; a cotton Puggaree for slouch hat, very worn & faded; an AIF Rising Sun hat badge. Also included are 2 x original B/W photo's of Helmers in New Guinea, 1 x in KD shirt & shorts & holding an Owen SMG. Adrian Lewis Helmers, from Bombala NSW born 1920. Resident Marrickville NSW. N247804. To 2/AIF 21/4/1943 as NX168219. Disch as Pte, 107 Advanced Depot Medical Store, 24/1/1946. Tunic in exc with no mothing.
