WWI era Australian or British General Officer's red Ceremonial jacket with elaborate gilt panels to collar & cuffs showing Oak Leaves & Acorns in gilt thread on black material background. Elaborate epaulettes & epaulettes in platted gilt cord. No rank insignia identified. Brass gilt buttons: L8 to front, M6 to cuffs & S2 on epaulettes. Complete but some loose. Jacket is very old with some restoration stitching required on seams & buttons. Buttons by Jennens & Co, London with wreath surrounding crossed baton & sword. These worn by Maj Gen, Lt Gen & General. Buttons complete but 3 loose in plastic bag. No tailor's tag or owner's name tag. Fair, would benefit from some restoration & worthy of further research. | SOLD at A$500 | ||
