France. Army. 1915-19 WWI Child's Uniform Model 1915 horizon blue tunic & trousers. Tunic identical in cut to the issue troop's tunic & fully lined in white cotton as per the issue jacket. Unusually it is unit & issue stamped in the interior (possibly due to it being made from an actual cut-down issue tunic?). Buttons replaced by civilian issues. Matching trousers appear to be unfinished, but full 4 button fly comp with 'Equipments Militaires' buttons. Would suit child approx age 4-5. Minor moth. VGC. A scarce survivor of the popular wartime patriotic habit of dressing children as servicemen. |
