Japan. Army. 1939-45 Imperial Army Officer uniform & equipment lot, near comp. Model 1930 Officer's field tunic comp with bullion on red shoulder rank boards to Captain, red gorget patches & white under collar; near matched pr of breeches (field repairs); pr of brown leather Officer's long boots; Officer's double-prong brown leather waist belt; Army haversack in canvas with tape ties dated 'Showa Yr 18' (=1943); Officer's Taisho era cloth covered aluminium water bottle with screw cup/lid that has provision for a small compass (this damaged) with leather strap; aluminium cigarette case with embossed design of a field artillery gun & crew; uninscribed, original Hokobokuro (personal battle flag) of sun disc printed on silk with leather tab hoist reinforcing. Minor moth to tunic & trousers, the latter with field repairs. Overall VGC. A scarce Army Officer uniform, mainly of the Taisho era but also utilised in China & WWII. Retail if bought individually $2000-$2500. |
