Alton Armstrong, enl Cairns (resident Charters Towers) Queensland, aged 39 yrs, 10 mths, 2/2/1916, previous service with 7th Bn. Aust Commonwealth Horse, South Africa 1902 (arrived after cessation of hostilities, no medal entitlement). To France with 15 Bn 16/1/1917, later attached to AOC, 4th Aust Div, transferred to 4th Aust Div AOC. 11/2/1918, T/SGT 26/10/1918, RtA + disch 9/12/1919. Together with his 3 x Army pay books, YMCA oil cloth wallet, pay book receipt per Troopship 'Euripides', a B/W photo of Armstrong & 3 mates in France, unused French Army letter card & captured German photo P/C & Feldpostcarte. On original ribbons. gVF. An excellent comp lot with copies of archive file.
