1914-18 Died of Wounds Dernancourt, Lieutenant & Adjutant 55th Bn pair. British War & Victory Medals impressed officially: '2-Lieut A.H. Vogan, AIF.' Arthur Henry Vogan, born Sydney NSW. Enl 5/6/1915, 17th Inf Bn as Private, no 2264 to Egypt & 55 Bn to France & Ops inc Fromelles. 2nd Lieut 1/11/16. Wounded in Action, shrapnel 2/2/17 Dernancourt. Died 3/2/17. Officer was wounded by shell shrapnel at Bn HQ, Le Transloy. Evidently his diary is in the Australian War Memorial. On original ribbon. EF. Also entitled to 1914-15 Star with research notes. |
