SUTTON VERDUM ARTHUR ROY : Service Number - R20374 : Date of birth - 01 Mar 1916 : Place of birth - Unknown : Place of enlistment - SYDNEY : Next of Kin - PRETORIA. HMAS Sydney (II) severely incapacitated the Italian cruiser Bartolomeo Colleoni on 19 July 1940 during the Battle of Cape Spada in the Mediterranean. Following the initial, crippling engagement by Sydney, the Italian vessel was subsequently sunk by British destroyers. Sutton se4rved on HMAS Sydney from 14-4-40 to 2-4-41. Rare & desirable. |
