1906 Queensland Police Silver Medal for Merit, Edward VII, solid silver, by Elkington. Engraved officially: 'Constable Gerard Hurst, No. 1196' red/white/blue ribbon, early large loop with floreate foot suspension. Silver brooch fitting suspension clasp. Constable Gerard Hurst noted ca 1916 at Mt Larcom Central Coast, QLD. The Qld Police medal for Merit instituted 1906 'for an act of courage or conspicuous bravery.' Discontinued 1936.
