1854-58 Meritorious Service Medal & Crimea group of 3 to the Berkshire Regiment. Crimea Medal 1854-1856, 3 clasps: ALMA, INKERMANN, SEBASTOPOL. Impressed Regimentally (in retrograde): 'W. MILLER, 3043, 49 REGT'; Army MSM (Victoria type III) impressed officially '2079 Sergt. W. MILLER, BOMBAY UNATTACHED LIST'; Turkish Crimea Sardinian issue, unnamed as issued, with custom knob & loop suspension - with copies of muster rolls indicating William Miller as Regt No.3034, 49th (Princess Charlotte of Wales, later Berkshire Regt) effective from c/1850 & confirming clasp for Sebastopol. Contact marks to Crimea (9 o'clock area) indicating the wear of the MSM first, a common 19th Century practice. gVF-gEF. Court mounted for display. Scarce group. |
