1900 BOXER REBELLION DAO ALSO KNOWN AS THE EXECUTIONS SWORD. Cord bound long wooden hilt which allows two handed use. Plain iron pommel, ferrule and oval hand guard, all with a black painted finish. Heavy, broad, single edged blade with a narrow fuller. Some areas of light pitting to the blade. Black painted reptile skin covered wooden scabbard with black painted iron fittings which consist of two annular iron suspension bands joined by an upper, elongated section of flat iron which has a decorative outer profile and two 'D' shaped suspension holes and an iron chape with a basic, voided design to both sides. O/a a wear to the black painted finish, but still a very good example of sword from this period. Licence required in Victoria. Grade II (P)
