Postmarks: Massive lifetime numeral cancel collection 1850-1915 with over 1350 diff PO nos. 1-2094 (not inc questionable cancels) with RRRRR (18) for 186 St Leonards duplex cancel type 4Da, 437, 733, 739, 871, 909, 1020, 1021, 1327, 1507, 1539, 1543, 1662, 1730, 1740, 1820, 1859, 1906. Mostly Fair-Good strikes inc some on piece with tying cds. Then RRRR (280) with 166 diff, RRR (390) with 223 diff, RR (500+), R (650) plus uncounted SS rated items with a good variety of 1899-1905 Registered mail pieces with tying cds. As these are small cancels, strikes vary from identifiable to comp crisp full numerals. 1851 Queen 2R red. Superb U appearance with red web cancel, 4 large margins, small expertly repaired tear & red cancel has in fact being painted over traces of black cancel. Scott 8 cat US$5000 as cheapest or $26,500 for this, SG 11 cat £13,000. Edifil 8 cat €16,000 for black cancel, or would cat €30,000 for red cancel!
