3475 Click for more photos | 1905-18 cover with violet strike of cachet I 'TRISTAN DA CUNHA' weakly inked as usual, to England, sl rought opened. (Cover addressed to Mrs Gertrude Anderson, & according to earlier owner's research, was carried on the Norwegian ship 'Trio' which called at Tristan on 11 December 1917. It was sent by Agnes Glass on 26 Nov 1917 to Gertrude Anderson thanking her for a parcel she had sent to the island, & giving details about herself & the island, which was then then published by Mrs Anderson in 'The Times' on 1 January 1918. While that original letter is not present here, the lot contains a letter written by Mrs Anderson to J.
