1d Carmine-red (G31) horiz pr, normal plus diag BISECT (UL half), tied with 'Beaconsfield 30 OC 18' cds, on cover to Sydney (some tones, mainly on reverse, o/w Fine). SG 21(var). ACSC 71Y(var). In October 1918 the PO increased postage by ½d, and for 4-6 weeks 1d red stamps were unofficially bisected to indicate a ½d rate until the first 1½d stamps were issued in November 1918.
