Scans of the reverse sides of most of the lots including all the better items are provided on our website. The lots are also available for viewing at our offices before the auction. For overseas customers, we are happy to provide extra information and/or extra scans of top values etc before the auction. Also, we are happy for customers to phone us during the viewing times (but not on auction day!) and ask for more detailed descriptions of the condition of any lots, and then one of our describers will take out the lots and go through them with you on the phone answering any questions honestly.
THEREFORE, NO RETURNS OF ANY LOTS WILL BE ACCEPTED DUE TO DIFFERENCES OF OPINION ABOUT SUBJECTIVE MATTERS SUCH AS GUM CONDITION, FRESHNESS ETC

2017 Gold Fish set Y1.20 - Y3.00, set of 8 different designs as se-tenant blocks of 4 from sheetlets, that were to be released as issue '2017-14' but were not issued. Stamps superb fresh MUH with pristine never hinged original gum. This set was fully prepared for issue with details of stamp designs published by China Post and preliminary distribution was done to post offices. However, the published designs were heavily criticised that some of the goldfish pictured had actually Japanese species names, and not Chinese ones! Due to the political fallout, a government decision was made to totally cancel the issue, and strict orders were given for all stocks to be returned & officially destroyed. In China all stamp sheets & philatelic sale products have individual serial nos, according to which full accounting can be made, and potential penalties are very severe. Only several sets are recorded as surviving, which originated from damaged presentation packs. By far the rarest Chinese stamps of the last 55+ years, and equivalent in rarity to the rarest unissued Cultural Revolution stamps. Important items for the specialist collector.
