Use of ships' names was highly irregular & contrary to military regulations. (Platypus was in Darwin Harbour when the Japanese bombed Darwin on 19/2/1942. She remained in Darwin as a training ship & later as a base ship. HMAS 'Melville' was the naval shore station at Darwin). Previously sold for $66 at a Melbourne auction in 2010.
